*How you’ll contribute*

Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is looking for an Ultrasound Tech to predominately work 12-hour shifts. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnostic exams on inpatients, outpatients, and Emergency room patients. An Ultrasound Tech who excels in this role:

* Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

* When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

* Prepares equipment and supplies. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

* Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedures. Enters, transmits and reports exam results.

* Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas including infection control protocols, for staff and patient safety.

* Assures regulatory compliance in all areas of expertise and responsibility.

*What we’re looking for*

* Experience: Previous experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

* License: ARDMS or ARRT (US) required within one year from date of hire. Must be Registry Eligible without ARDMS or ARRT - "Registry eligible" is defined by an individual completing necessary education, training and other pre-requisites to sit for a certification (ARDMS and/or ARRT) or board exam for specific modality.

* Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire (non-AHA BLS certification valid only from date of hire for 6 months or up until the date of expiration, not to exceed 6 months)
