    About the Role:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Meeting Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing a variety of events, ensuring that every aspect runs smoothly and meets the expectations of our clients. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for creating memorable experiences including but not limited to:

     

    + Plan, organize, and execute meetings and events from start to finish, including logistics, catering, and guest services.

    + Negotiate contracts with vendors, venues, and suppliers to secure the best rates and services.

    + Develop event marketing strategies to promote upcoming events effectively.

    + Manage budgets for each event, ensuring all expenses are tracked and reported accurately.

    + Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences for each event.

    + Upsell additional services or products that may enhance the event experience.

    + Coordinate catering services, including menu selection and dietary restrictions.

    + Oversee on-site event management to ensure everything runs according to plan.

    + Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after events to ensure client satisfaction.

    + Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and improve future events.

    Skills

    + Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and venues.

    + Proficient in marketing techniques related to event promotion.

    + Experience in upselling services or products effectively.

    + Knowledge of event planning processes and best practices.

    + Excellent customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.

    + Exceptional time management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

    + Comprehensive understanding of events management principles.

    + Proficient in budgeting practices related to event planning.

    + Outstanding communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.

    + Strong organizational skills to manage various aspects of event logistics seamlessly.

    + Previous experience in banquet operations is a plus.

    + Familiarity with contracts related to event planning is essential.

    + Experience in catering coordination is preferred.

    + Background in restaurant or hotel operations can be beneficial.

    What you'll need:

    + HS Diploma or GED required and a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.

    + Prior event coordination, and/or customer service or other hospitality experience.

    + Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.

    + Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    + Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.

    + Comfortable meeting and engaging with new people.

    + Warm and engaging demeanor. Ability to assess circumstances, empathize and offer help.

    + Basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

    + Ability to work flexible work schedules based on business need.
