Job Description

The Machine Mechanic supports Human Technologies’ mission of Creating Employment for People with Disabilities by performing maintenance and repair of manufacturing and support equipment and supporting general maintenance activities in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work, and ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use.

Requirements

1 .Maintain and repair all production and support equipment, including but not limited to sewing and embroidery machines, screen print machines, heat seal equipment, banders, stretch wrappers, forklifts, air compressors, lawn mowers, and snow blowers. Regularly review maintenance methods, manpower utilization, materials and equipment and make recommendations for improvements and machine optimization.2. Trouble-shoot, repair, modify and fabricate all production machines, jigs, fixtures and other production equipment as required.3. Participate in preventive maintenance programs and proactively perform inspections and repairs to minimize equipment and facility failures. Conduct maintenance equipment and supplies inventories and prepare requisitions or purchase orders as required.4. Perform general maintenance and repair of owned and leased buildings. General maintenance includes but is not limited to replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets, and other general plumbing; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes and other general maintenance.5. Assist in compliance with pertinent OSHA and all other regulations.

6. Complete required facilities, safety, and maintenance records.7. Actively participate in corporate safety by following all safety procedures, creating a safe working environment and practicing and training employees in safe and proper work habits and equipment use.

8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Qualifications:1. Must possess a mechanical aptitude and have experience in machined and/or equipment repair and building maintenance.2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.3. Proficient with MS Office products and other computer/internet skills.4. Must have a valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation and have and maintain a driving record in accordance with Human Technologies’ Liability/Automotive Insurance carrier.5. Must pass any required federal, state, municipality, and/or customer-specific background checks.
