Position Description
TheDepartment of Biology (https://www.bio.txst.edu/) at Texas State University invites applications for a research program faculty position specializing in molecular biology and physiology. Research program faculty in biology engage in cutting edge, federally funded research.
The successful candidate will work with Dr. Peggy Biga on projects that focus on maternal dietary effects on offspring and sex-specific aging phenotypes. Work will include molecular physiology, genomics and epigenomics, and organismal biology.
All positions are subject to availability of funds.
Required Qualifications
1. Earned M.S. in the biological sciences or related field
2. Research emphasis
3. Experience in molecular biology techniques (like PCR , qPCR, electrophoresis, molecular cloning, Western blotting) and animal handling
4. Desire to learn new techniques and work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience with handling and husbandry of fish species
2. Experience with genomic and epigenomic sequencing and bioinformatics
3. Record of peer reviewed publication participation
4. Lab management experience or training
