    Lead and manage wastewater, drinking water, and stormwater analyses and research initiatives related duties toward the mission of the HydroAnalytical and the Center for Human GeoEnvironmental Studies, including staff and graduate/undergraduate student training, through work that requires experience and certification. Position supports student research and generates revenue for research and development projects that students are involved with in an ongoing basis. Continuation of position is depending upon funding/need.

     

    + Assist in development of new research and analytical methods and certification as part of Lab growth.

    + Lead and manage inorganic and organic laboratory analyses in a timely manner using analytical instrumentation and wet chemistry techniques for commercial and research purposes, including pursuit of grants and funding to support new projects and analytical methods.

    + Assist in managing Lab workflow and budget, including ordering and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

    + Maintain laboratory Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and SOPs and ensure data quality of analytical results and maintain QA/QC procedures.

    + Obtain and maintain applicable State and Federal laboratory certifications for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater analyses.

    + Manage training and certification of staff and students in water analysis methods.

    Job Requirements:

    + MS degree in a field related to environmental science, public health, or a related field

    + Minimum of one year of experience.

    + Candidate must hold KDOW Certification in water analysis methods (wastewater, stormwater, drinking water)

    + Previous program coordination and/or management experience.

    + Previous experience in conducting research and contract work.

    + Experience working with students.

    + Scientific proficiency in both written and oral formats.

    + Knowledge of laboratory operations, including QA/QC, KPDES, DMR, and related DOW protocols

    Additional Information:

    Salary: $40,008
