    _System Administrator Job Description:_

     

    Provides technical and operational support for the operation and administration of the site and lab computing infrastructure including switches, routers, databases, thin-clients, and domain servers. Background working in a Linux and Microsoft Windows environment. Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.

    _System Administrator Required Skills:_

    + Troubleshoot issues and outages.

    + Respond to requests and tickets to the helpdesk.

    + Install and configure servers and workstations.

    + Experience troubleshooting and supporting computer and network equipment.

    + Setting up administrator and service accounts.

    + Interacts with system users.

    + Coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

    + Able to support and maintain a lab environment including maintenance and upkeep of hardware and the installation and/or upgrading of system software.

    + Able to work under general supervision and communicate clearly with both peers and superiors.

    + Able to plan and follow schedules with little oversight or direction.

    + Effectively communicate both orally and in written form, possess excellent organizational and reporting abilities.

    + Be team oriented, energetic, and possess a friendly personality.

    _System Administrator Desired Skills:_

    + Experience troubleshooting and/or configuring Linux servers to include scripting.

    + Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF).

    + Familiarity with configuring VMs (Virtualization).

    _System Administrator Additional Requirements:_

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education and 1 – 3 years of experience.

    + Willingness to work overtime and off shift when dictated to support business needs

    + Ability to lift 50 pounds

    + Candidate must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship and able to obtain and keep a DoD Secret level security clearance
