    Responsibilities

    **A Post-Doctoral Research Fellow position is available in the Department of Hematology.** The current project is to bioinformatically investigate the molecular evolution of clonal hematopoiesis in breast cancer and link this information to the rich outcomes in clinical cohorts at Mayo Clinic. The job requires bioinformatic, database, web authoring and programming skills for this two-year project. The overall objective is to accurately call somatic mutations in large cohorts based on our previously published LiFT filter and to link cancer progression and outcome data to mutation status.

     

    The post-holder will drive data integration approaches from different sources such as whole genome sequencing, single cell omics, bulk RNA-seq and ATAC-Seq and DNA and develop analysis pipelines. The post-holder will establish new bioinformatics data analysis methods as required and communicate developments in the field of genomics and hematology to the local research community. The post-holder will be responsible for management of good data storage practices, adherence to relevant regulation (for example human data), methods development, SOPs, budget management and appropriate record keeping. The post-holder will provide in-depth bioinformatics-based technical support to members of the Kirschner lab.

    Qualifications

    Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.

    $68,564 - $80,210 / year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
