    Payroll Specialist Job Description (Expertise in ADP and UKG)

    A Payroll Specialist ensures the smooth and accurate execution of payroll processes, leveraging advanced payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, ADP Run, and/or UKG Pro. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of managing all aspects of payroll while ensuring compliance with payroll laws and regulations.

    Requirements

    Primary Responsibilities

    + End-to-End Payroll Processing

    + Accurately process payroll for salaried and hourly employees through ADP and/or UKG Pro, adhering to strict deadlines.

    + Maintain and update employee payroll records, including pay rates, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and garnishments.

    + Manage and reconcile payroll discrepancies, ensuring all payments are accurate and adhere to company policies.

    + Compliance and Tax Management

    + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

    + Prepare, process, and file payroll tax documents, including quarterly and annual filings, through ADP/UKG systems.

    + Track changes in wage laws and tax regulations, ensuring they are properly reflected in payroll processes (Source: DFST2025 - Midyear Update.pdf).

    + Employee Support and Issue Resolution

    + Handle employee inquiries related to payroll, time-and-attendance, deductions, and benefits.

    + Train employees on self-service tools within ADP or UKG for viewing paystubs, updating personal information, and time-off requests.

    + Reporting and Reconciliation

    + Generate detailed payroll reports for HR and Finance teams using ADP and UKG reporting tools.

    + Reconcile payroll data with accounting records, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

    + Support internal and external audits with clean and compliant payroll documentation (Source: DFST2025 - Midyear Update.pdf).

    + System Optimization and Collaboration

    + Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to integrate HRIS/HRMS data with payroll software and improve workflow efficiency.

    + Participate in system upgrades or migrations, testing new features within ADP Workforce Now or UKG Pro to improve payroll operations.
