    Description:

    Publix Super Markets is hiring a Manager of Benefits Design to oversee the development and management of health, welfare, and voluntary benefits programs. This position will design benefits that support our associates and their families, focusing on financial, physical, mental and emotional health, social connections, and career engagement.

     

    In Publix’s corporate offices, we value in-person interactions, similar to those our store associates have with customers. The Benefits department offers a hybrid office/remote work environment with work onsite at the corporate office three days a week.

    Your impact

    • Lead strategic initiatives by designing and implementing benefits programs, including pilots and proof-of-concept projects.

    • Conduct regular audits of benefit programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

    • Manage relationships with third party vendors in support of new benefits plans and programs, ensuring effective collaboration and successful implementation.

    • Data-Driven Design: Analyze internal and external data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

    • Team Leadership: Train and mentor Benefits Coordinator, fostering a high-performance culture.

    As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care administration, or related field

    + At least five years of progressive responsibility in the benefits field with at least two years managing others; knowledge of leading employee benefits plans, programs, and strategies, and of the general status of the employee benefits field; strong change management skills

    + Ability to build consensus and buy-in with senior leadership

    + Knowledge of various laws and regulations which may affect the administration of the benefit plans, such as ERISA, PPACA, COBRA, HIPAA

    + Knowledge of the administration of health and welfare plans at a large employer

    + Knowledge of financial principles

    + Knowledge of project management

    + Strong analytical abilities (this includes the ability to evaluate complex ideas and solutions)

    + Knowledge of vendor procurement principles, including (but not limited to) RFPs, price, service/performance fee/contract negotiation

    + Ability to interpret and apply legal documents, plan documents, regulations and government legislation

    + Willingness to occasionally travel overnight as required
