    Position Overview:

    The Cardiac Device Specialist (CDS), also known as a Cardiology Device Clinical Specialist, provides advanced technical and clinical expertise in the management of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs) across ambulatory care settings. This role requires proficiency in the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CIED programmers, as well as the ability to accurately analyze and interpret complex device data.

     

    Working collaboratively with the Electrophysiology and Cardiology teams, the CDS ensures high-quality patient care through comprehensive device management, arrhythmia interpretation, and the application of noninvasive arrhythmia termination protocols. Responsibilities also include the management and interpretation of CIED remote monitoring data, with thorough knowledge of remote communication platforms and navigation of manufacturer-specific systems.

    EDUCATION:

    + Bachelor's: Healthcare or related field

    CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES

    + ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support

    + BLS-Basic Life Support

    + IBHRE-International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners certification within 2 years

    TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

    + Typically requires 5 years of recent, relevant experience in Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device management, electrophysiology, and/or related clinical or industry roles with specific expertise in implantable pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    + Extensive working knowledge of cardiac implantable electronic devices of all forms, electrophysiology, electrophysiology procedures, non-invasive pulse stimulation, cardiac anatomy and physiology, and interpreting knowledge of diagnostic and interventional procedures is desired.

    + Demonstrated proficiency in recognition and interpretation of Intracardiac Electrogram (IEGM), Electrocardiography (ECG), Implantable Loop Recorder (ILR), and associated cardiac electrophysiology data, and CIED anomalies.

    + Possess superb written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.

    + Exceptional time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.

    + Prioritize activities and work within defined policies, procedures, and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines; help determine appropriate approach for new assignments.

    + Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.

    Pay Range is $58.71 to $73.38 / hour

     

    _The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package._ _​_
