Description
The primary function of this position is to support our night operations. In this role, you will work closely with the seafood team and night crew to ensure all customer orders are picked, labeled, and prepared accurately and efficiently. This hands-on position involves handling both fresh and frozen seafood in a cold, wet warehouse environment while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and communication.
The SeafoodExpeditormust be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with the night crew and seafood department to ensure customer seafood orders are accurately picked and processed
+ Locate and communicate about short or missing items to ensure they are included before customer trucks are dispatched
+ Review seafood reports to identify and help prevent labeling or item issues before shipment
+ Pack, weigh, and prepare seafood products in baskets, boxes, or crates for delivery
+ Handle and process fresh and frozen seafood with care and efficiency
+ Sort, label, and grade seafood items as part of the order preparation process
+ Assist with order selection and production tasks within the warehouse
+ Engage in hands-on production work using arms and hands throughout the shift
+ Work in cold, wet warehouse conditions while following proper food safety and sanitation practices
+ Maintain a clean and organized workstation before, during, and after each shift to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
+ Must complete any additional tasks/duties as assigned by supervisor’s.
Qualifications
Education/Training
+ Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety requirements
+ Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
+ Previous warehouse, seafood, or food distribution experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
+ This is a full-time position. Must be able to work the assigned schedule. This position may require working 10+ hour shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Work hours may vary, or change based on departmental requirements.
+ Must be able to use, or learn to use, all equipment and tools used to perform the job.
+ Able to work rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift, in a fast-paced environment.
+ Must be able to work as a team and individually.
+ Must adhere to all safety practices and company policies
+ Must be able to follow directions.

+ Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and climb for prolonged periods of time.
+ Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
+ Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, balance, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit.
+ Regularly required to push/pull/lift/carry and/or move up to 40 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move between 41 and 50 pounds, and seldom lift and/or move 51 pounds and up to 100 pounds.
+ Regularly work in a refrigerated environment.
+ Frequently bend and twist while retrieving items from lower shelf areas and operating a pallet jack or other powered industrial equipment.
General Requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
+ Must successfully pass a controlled substance screening test.
+ Must adhere to all safety practices and company policies.
+ This is a full-time position. Must be able to work Monday-Friday , as well as weekends. Work hours may vary, or change based on departmental requirements.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, Seafood Expeditor will constantly work near powered industrial equipment and experience exposure to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working on concrete flooring. Duties will require working in Varying climates. Temperatures range from below zero in the freezer to 95°F or above outdoors.
