    Euclid Hospital's 8th floor Med/Surg and Telemetry Unit is a 31-bed unit that specializes in advanced telemetry. This unit has an average daily census of 25 and is comprised of 7 private rooms, 10 semi-private rooms and a 4-bed observation room for patients who may be confused, at risk for falls or in need of visual monitoring. Known for their exceptional assessment skills and team mentality, caregivers in this unit provide the best patient-centered and relationship-based care to their adult to geriatric patients with ranging medical-surgical diagnoses.

     

    As a Nurse Manager, you will manage the delivery of care in the 8th Floor Med/Surg and Telemetry Unit. In this role, you will provide diagnostic or therapeutic services to patients while offering clinical supervision, maintaining quality outcomes and supervising all aspects of personnel management and development. Ultimately, your dedication and leadership help enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience for everyone, whether they are patients, visitors or fellow caregivers.

     

    A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM - 4:00PM but can vary based on the needs of the unit.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.

    + Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.

    + Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.

    + Supervise caregivers and promote development.

    + Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.

    + Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments.

    + Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes.

    + Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.

    + Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.

    + Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

    + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

    + Three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least one year of healthcare management experience

    + High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area

    + Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN)

    Physical Requirements:

    + Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination.

    + Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking.

    + Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range.

    + Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

    + Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

    + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
