Professional Rank and Salary Range: $16/hour for 16-hours per week
Duration: Starting as soon as possible through December 2025
Brief Description of Duties:
The support advocate in this position will focus on supporting the social/emotional needs of students in 9th-12th grade during lunch periods. This position is being created to support students in a high needs district while the Academic Counselor is out on extended leave, so that students do not become disconnected from the program.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for assisting the Project Director to ensure the goals, objectives, and activities set forth for LPP are achieved.
Serve as liaison between the school and community, at-risk youth, and their families.
Assist in identifying and selecting "at-risk" youth to participate in support services offered by the LPP program. Follow each child's case carefully by monitoring behavioral, emotional, and academic improvements.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Experience or training working with students in a classroom setting
Preferred Requirements:
+ Associate's degree or beyond in education, counseling, human services or related field.
+ Evidence of strong problem-solving skills
+ Evidence of strong written and communication skills
+ The ability to work independently as well as part of a dedicated team
+ Demonstrated commitment in providing leadership in building equitable, diverse and inclusive environments
