    Description:

    An Opportunity to Join our Remarkable Care Team as a** **Echocardiographer** **in the** **Noninvasive Cardiology** **Department awaits YOU!!!!

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    Provides diagnostic services-Adult echocardiography, stress testing, ECGs and Holter monitoring. Is responsible for the safe and effective function of complex medical technology used for diagnosis.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE:

    Education:

    *Completion of a formal 2 year or associate degree program in diagnostic medical sonography (approved by Joint Review Committee on Education- and the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registry or previous certification in another health related field and successful completion of a certificate program in medical sonography and ARDMS registry or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International.

    *ACLS certification required for all positions performing stress testing- new hires allowed 3 months to comply.

    *Responsible for educational needs in accordance with license.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    1. Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with patients, physicians and other health personnel.

    2. Analytical skills necessary to assist in resolving technical problems interpret results and alter procedures as necessary to provide optimal care.

    3. Ability to walk and stand for up to 100% of work time and to lift, pull, push and carry equipment weighing up to 20 pounds for up to _25%_ of work time.

    4. Visual form perception to perceive detail in ultrasound images for the determination of exposure acceptability, anatomical presentation, and image quality, auditor, sensory, verbal and mental activity.

    5. Possesses knowledge of operating imaging equipment as evidenced by: Operates imaging equipment within prescribed standards as set by Medical Director of Cardiology Services (as documented in departmental policy) as well as federal, state, and local agencies Operates ultrasound equipment and accessories by selecting proper computer settings and imaging modes. Evaluates sonograms for technical quality
