Description

A well-established construction company in Escondido is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its finance team and play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of project-related financial data. What You’ll Be Doing:

+ Record and maintain general ledger and job cost journal entries with precision.

+ Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure job cost data is accurate and up-to-date.

+ Set up and manage job and contract information, ensuring all financial details are properly tracked.

+ Assist with revenue recognition and Work-In-Progress (WIP) transactions.

+ Coordinate with the operations team to align production results with financial reporting.

+ Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and reporting.

+ Identify discrepancies and propose solutions to improve accounting workflows.

Requirements

+ 3+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant, preferably in the construction industry.

+ Solid understanding of construction accounting principles and WIP reporting.

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.

+ Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Sage Accounting and Procore is highly desirable.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
