Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Director with expertise in compensation strategies to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role, based in Chicago, Illinois, focuses on overseeing HR functions such as Talent Acquisition, year-end reviews, and HR Administration. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of HR systems and processes to deliver effective solutions that align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

+ Manage and oversee the People Operations team (2 direct reports), ensuring consistent support and guidance across all HR functions during the leave period.

+ Lead critical year-end processes, including performance reviews, compensation planning, and initiatives related to learning and development, talent management, and organizational culture-building.

+ Serve as a trusted strategic advisor on HR matters such as performance management, employee engagement, talent development, and workforce planning.

+ Develop, refine, and document scalable HR practices to benefit the organization beyond the coverage period.

+ Take ownership of compensation management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.

Requirements

+ 8-10 years of HR experience, including a strong background in compensation management, team leadership, and strategic people-focused advisory.

+ Proven ability to execute year-end processes and drive initiatives that foster talent development and organizational culture.

+ Strong experience in managing and mentoring HR teams while delivering lasting operational improvements.

+ Advanced MS Excel experience (macros, advanced
