    UPMC is looking for a full time Fleet Transportation Team Lead to support our UPMC Employee Transit Garage located in Pittsburgh.

     

    This position works 8 hours/day, Monday-Friday. Shifts may between 3:00 am and 5:00 pm. Occasional weekends as needed.

    Purpose:

    The Fleet Transportation Team Lead will provide front line leadership for shuttle bus operational activities such as fueling, sanitation, rider transport as well as other transit support activities.

    Responsibilities:

    + Perform telephone communication responsibilities in a professional and courteous manner.

    + Distributes work assignments in an equitable, accurate and timely manner.

    + Fills in as a Shuttle Bus Operator or Fleet Transportation Dispatcher as needed.

    + Maintain ridership information and report per company processes.

    + Maintain route standards and only stray from designated route with permission of management or law enforcement.

    + Understands and monitors DOT compliance. Remain compliant with all regulations and guidelines established by the FMCSA, driver license, medical card and motor vehicle record.

    + Develop a strong working relationship with all riders, drivers and co-workers.

    + Provide the highest level of customer service to all passengers.

    + Demonstrate safe working and driving actions. Fuels vehicles according to company policy.

    + Attends meetings as needed.

    + Trains new employees to properly follow department procedures and policies.

    + Customer Relations Management.

    + Travels between UPMC facilities as required.

    + Demonstrates capability to meet or exceed customer requirements.

    + Communicates continuous improvement and value.

    + Recognizes and understands methods to improve operational efficiencies.

    + Demonstrates understanding and responsibility of state and federal compliance regulations.

    + Assists in monitoring and maintaining DOT compliance this includes assigned recorded keeping when necessary.

    + Assists in developing and fostering a strong working relationship between UPMC security, hospital operations and UPMC SCM; Maintain open communications with local hospital leadership teams.

    + Promote safety and maintain the department in a clean and organized fashion.

    + This position may involve lifting, moving, pushing and pulling items that can potentially be between 50 and 100 lbs.

    + Complies with all UPMC Employee Transit policies, procedures and standard responsibilities.

    + High School diploma required; post-secondary degree is preferred.

    + 1 year of previous supervisory experience preferred.

    + 4 years of transportation or related supply chain experience is preferred.

    + Understanding of transportation regulations and governmental policies related to transporting people is preferred.

    + Strong leadership and teamwork skills required.

    + Ability to manage change in a busy environment required computer proficiency of various business software packages preferred.

    + Demonstrates capability to supervise fleet drivers and vehicles.

    + Recognizes and understands methods to improve operational efficiencies.

    + Commitment to obtain a Class-B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement within 6-months. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**

    + Commitment to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement within 6 months.

    + FMSCA Clearinghouse Drug and Alcohol Registration

    + CDL Passenger Endorsement
