    Description

    The Janitor assists with cleaning the office environment. They carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: general office & bathroom cleaning, sanitation, and garbage removal.

     

    Essential Functions and Desired Outcomes

     

    + Complete the weekly cleaning schedule to ensure a sanitary, clean, and welcoming environment.

    + Respect people’s privacy and ensure duties are carried out in a customer focused approach.

    + Primary duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    + Clean floors – sweep, vacuum, mop, & scrub

    + Service, clean, sterilize & supply restrooms – toilets, urinals, sinks fixtures, floors, & trash

    + Pick-up and dispose of trash and recyclables; clean containers as needed.

    + Dust and clean light fixtures and blinds

    + Operate powered equipment typically used in custodial operations

    + Keep janitorial closet clean and orderly.

    + Prepare, mix, and use cleaning agents according to specifications.

    + Remove all stains from vertical surfaces such as doors, door frames, and around light switches.

    + Dust all baseboards, image frames, charts, graphs and wall hangings
