    Sue Sumrell is looking for an experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our growing client with an amazing culture! In this role, you will oversee critical accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

    Responsibilities:

    • GAAP compliant project costing accounting and WIP schedules

    • Accounting for multiple projects.

    • Prepare and record journal entries to reflect business transactions.

    • Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

    • Analyze revenue streams and ensure compliance with ASC 606 standards - revenue methods and structures.

    • Utilize Deltek Vantagepoint software to manage financial data and reporting.

    • Oversee project accounting processes, ensuring proper allocation of costs and resources.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting procedures.

    • Become the subject matter expert and trainer for their accounting software, which will be upgraded.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management in a construction environment.

    • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.

    • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles, including ASC 606.

    • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar financial software.

    • Background in project accounting and cost allocation.

    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and communicate financial data effectively.

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required
