    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a Training Manager to lead strategic training initiatives across our non-technical departments. This role will focus on enhancing performance, engagement, and career growth for employees in sales, rental, parts, digital, safety and support functions. You will lead the design and execution of learning programs that build soft skills, product knowledge, technological aptitude, customer service excellence, and leadership capabilities—ensuring our teams are equipped to thrive in a customer-driven environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Develop and execute a company-wide learning strategy that supports Wheeler’s business goals and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

    + Partner with department leaders to assess skill gaps and identify training needs across non-technical roles.

    + Deliver engaging learning experiences including workshops, onboarding programs, e-learning modules, and leadership development tracks.

    + Design and implement training programs for operational support (non-technical) areas such as leadership development, digital transformation, customer excellence, safety, parts, and sales.

    + Integrate soft skills training (communication, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, time management) into core development programs.

    + Leverage modern learning technologies and platforms to deliver scalable, high-impact training.

    + Collaborate with department managers to identify skill gaps, training needs, and career path development strategies.

    + Build relationships with external vendors and trainers to expand learning opportunities and bring fresh perspectives to the organization.

    + Measure training effectiveness using performance metrics, feedback, and ROI analysis; continuously refine programs based on insights.

    + Oversee training budgets, staffing, and instructor resources to ensure program success.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, preferably in customer-facing or operational environments.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, Education, or related field.

    + Experience in leadership development and change management.

    + Experience designing and delivering training programs.

    + Familiarity with LMS platforms and content development software tools, including Articulate.

    + Strong foundation in adult learning principles and instructional design.

    + Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

    + Experience developing and delivering training across multiple formats (in-person, virtual, blended).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience building L&D functions from the ground up.

    + Knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, Kirkpatrick).

    + Ability to evaluate and manage external vendors and consultants.

    Skills & Competencies:

    + Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into actionable learning solutions.

    + Strong facilitation and consulting skills; able to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

    + Expertise in training program design, delivery, and evaluation.

    + Excellent communication and storytelling skills to connect learning with business outcomes.

    + Innovative mindset with experience in microlearning, and digital platforms.

    + Analytical skills to interpret data and drive continuous improvement.

    + Project management skills to juggle multiple initiatives and deadlines.

    Work Environment & Location:

    This position is based in Salt Lake City, UT, with occasional travel may be required to support training delivery and stakeholder engagement.

    Compensation & Benefits:

    Competitive salary range: $90,000 – $110,000, based on experience.
