The primary purpose of this position is to

set up, operate, program manual and CNC horizontal milling machines, manual

lathes, and CNC lathes performing detailed operations on a variety of parts and

components. Use a range of tools, including milling cutters, boring bars and

heads, saws, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and more. Your role will require

a proven understanding of shop mathematics and the capacity to interpret

complicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables. You should also have

experience with precision measuring instruments and/or specialized occupation

training

How You’ll Make an Impact

+ Usematerial handling equipment to load/unload parts and assist crane operators.Set up machines by installing tooling and adjusting feeds, speeds, and settingsper job specifications.

+ Secureand align workpieces using appropriate tools and fixtures to ensure accuratemachining.

+ Followestablished procedures, including lineups, manuscripts, programs, and toolingsheets, to operate machines effectively.

+ Performa wide range of machining operations such as milling, drilling, turning,grinding, and more using various control methods.

+ Conductin-process inspections and integrity checks to maintain drawing tolerances.Make necessary tool changes, offsets, and machine adjustments.

+ Removechips, inspect and clean parts, perform preventative maintenance and minorrepairs, and complete required documentation such as log sheets and downtimerecords.

What You Bring

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ 5-7 years of experience with CNCmachinery, programming, G & M code, and manual machining which includesfamiliarity with blueprints.

+ Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

+ Must be able to pass the career readiness exam silver status.

About the Team

Our Large Generator Rotor Operations team is responsible for

manufacturing large electric generator rotors weighing up to 275 tons. We

operate within the Large Generator team to supply new 150 – 1000 megawatt generators

to power plants all over the world. In addition to manufacturing new

rotors, we also service generator rotors by providing inspections, rewinds,

modernizations, and upgrades.

Our Gas Services division offers low-emission power generation through

service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas

turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization

opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of

the fleet.
