This Attorney position is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of agreements, including technology-related such as software licensing, SaaS, cloud services, data privacy, and other vendor contracts. This role requires a strong understanding of intellectual property, cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance in the tech sector. The Attorney will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure contractual terms align with business objectives and legal standards. The role requires proven experience in contract negotiation, administration, and compliance, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

What You Will Do

Assist in company legal activities and functions; reports directly to Managing Attorney/indirectly to corporate General Counsel.

Provide legal advice on matters including:

+ Technology, cybersecurity, and data privacy matters

+ Legal and business requirements

+ Contract issues

+ Franchise issues

+ Federal contracting

+ Settlement negotiations

+ Tax issues

+ Property rights and issues

+ Claims, damages and related litigation

+ Environmental issues

+ Corporate governance

Assist outside counsel and consultants for company.

Review, research, initiate, compose, and/or prepare information and reports including:

+ Corporate documents

+ Contracts

+ Franchises

+ Legal research

+ Legislation review

+ Memorandum and correspondence

Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

What You Will Need

Minimum Bachelor in business law, business administration, economics, management or related field plus Juris Doctorate with law practice experience.

An understanding of legal practice within energy industry or other legal areas impacting corporations, including matters involving local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

An understanding of gas supply, transportation, and sales contracts.

Experience with the application of basic math and statistical formulas.

Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software.

Working knowledge and training related to:

+ Rate making procedures and concepts

+ Drafting and negotiating contracts and settlements

+ Franchise and municipal law

+ Tax law

+ Business communication skills

+ Property rights and issues

+ Technology, cybersecurity, and data privacy laws

Read and interpret contracts, statues, regulations, court cases, briefs, letters, memorandum, opinion of counsel, pending legislation, and company policies and procedures.

Research and prepare correspondence, briefs, settlement agreements, memorandums, contracts, and budgets.

Negotiate, persuade, advocate, interact, advise, and communicate effectively.

Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task several active projects.

Read and write fluently in English.

Minimum applicable driver's license.

Minimum Juris Doctorate admitted to practice as required by state (or other applicable jurisdiction) in good standing.

Mobility to travel in and around office surroundings.

Communicate and exchange information or instructions.

Visual ability to perform job responsibilities.
