Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
+ Skill in diagnosing and resolving complex building control and monitoring system issues, including use of diagnostic tools such as Sharp, YABE , or BACnet Pro, with an understanding of VLANs and IP networking.
+ Experience working with electronic controls, low-voltage systems, telecommunications, and computer interfaces.
+ Knowledge of building automation systems, including Siemens Insight and Desigo platforms, BACnet communication protocols, and building control sequences.
+ Ability to install, program, modify, and maintain automation control sequences for campus-wide systems and to inspect and correct field device performance.
+ Ability to effectively communicate procedures and protocols to other technical personnel to ensure continuity among installations.
+ Skill in leading, motivating, and supporting a team of technical personnel, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Knowledge of HVAC /R systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment.
+ Experience using test and balance equipment, including manometers, airflow stations, capture hoods, temperature and humidity recorders, pressure transducers, and voltage meters.
+ 5-10 Years of control technician experience.
+ Proficient in reading blueprints, interpreting technical documents, writing reports, and performing complex mathematical calculations related to system performance and design.
Job Description
Maintain plant and building systems hardware to provide continuous, consistent, and accurate information and control of plant systems, processes and equipment.
Job Duties
+ Serve as team lead for day-to-day task assignments and work order management, and provide support to staff across all campus construction divisions.
+ Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and controls for plants and buildings to meet university needs.
+ Program, configure, and maintain utility meters (electric, water, thermal, and gas) to ensure accurate data collection and integration with the building automation system ( BAS ).
+ Perform testing and troubleshooting of utility meter communications and verify system data integrity.
+ Develop programming sequences for meter integration into campus BAS servers and dashboards.
+ Review building automation systems ( BAS ) on all construction and remodeling submittals; participate in building commissioning, testing, and balancing for all projects.
+ Coordinate repair proposals requiring procurement through the supervisor.
+ Monitor and oversee service contractors performing BAS -related repairs across campus.
+ Maintain Siemens Insight and Desigo CC systems, including server updates and programming changes.
+ Develop and implement new programming strategies to improve server efficiency and operational performance.
+ Collaborate with construction managers to provide layouts, designs, and input for project budgeting as requested.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
