    Required Skills:

    Software Engineer Responsibilities:

    1. Analyze, design, develop, and debug firmware for a wide variety of AR and VR consumer devices, including novel sensing and imaging systems, haptic devices, and audio prototypes.

    2. Understand and implement power-management, boot loaders, scheduling, and RTOS.

    3. Collaborate in a team environment across multiple, product focused, research, and engineering disciplines, making the architectural tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver firmware solutions.

    4. Support all phases of SoC/ASIC development – including early architecture requirements definition for custom silicon, firmware architecture, implementation, simulation, FPGA debug, chip bring up and support systems and software teams on algorithm development on validated systems.

    5. Understand and drive implementation of FW development good practices across teams and projects.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    6. Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation

    7. Experience must include 5 years of experience in the following:

    8. 1. Software design and programming in C/C++ for development, debugging, testing and performance analysis

    9. 2. Methods of designing experiments to diagnose embedded hardware and firmware problems

    10. 3. Producing production quality, fail-safe firmware for low-power real-time system control

    11. 4. Peripherals such as USB, SPI, MIPI CSI/DSI, I2C, UART, GPIO

    12. 5. Analyzing hardware and power consumption

    13. 6. Device documentation and translate that information into software solutions

    14. 7. Cross multi-disciplinary boundaries to drive system solutions

    15. 8. Embedded processors including ARM Cortex M0/M3/M4 architecture and boot mechanism, interrupt priorities and experience with configuring peripherals

    16. 9. Instrumentation including oscilloscopes, logic/protocol analyzers for debugging embedded systems at HW level

    17. 10. Hardware, clock-level issues, bridges, delays, interrupts, clock gating, polling

    Public Compensation:

    $264,514/year to $275,094/year + bonus + equity + benefits
