    Job Title: Production Supervisor

     

    Department: Production

     

    Shift: 2nd Shift 4:30pm-3am

     

    Summary Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    + Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

    + Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

    + Resolves workplace issues/problems submitting unsettled grievances to the Operations Manager and/or Human Resources for resolution.

    + Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.

    + Oversees the daily operations of production departments including, but not limited to machining, assembly and/or welding, etc.

    + Conducts employee training on equipment operations or work and safety procedures

    + Works with other departments to drive continuous improvement efforts and reduce costs

    + Adjusts the production plan in time according to changes in the demand plan

    + Maintains production schedules in department to ensure timely delivery of customer products

    + Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

    + Schedules personnel based on current workload and skill availability to best utilize skills and machines

    + Coordinates activities between shifts

    + Enforces the company policies regarding safety, quality, productivity and discipline

    + Resolves personnel problems by investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.

    + Supports Kaizen and other continuous improvement activities

    Follow safety procedures, security protocol, and wear proper PPE.

     

    Education and/or Experience

     

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in welding/fabricating and/or machining preferred.

     

    Reasoning Ability

     

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
