    The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of facilities and operational equipment maintenance to include conveyors, plumbing, forklifts, compressor, stretch wrap machines, dock doors, etc.

    Job Responsibilities: (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)

    + Communicates updates to the SAP system to include new PM requirements and completed PM’s.

    + Responsible for all aspects of facilities and operational equipment maintenance to include conveyors, plumbing, forklifts, compressor, stretch wrap machines, dock doors, etc.

    + Coordinates correction of defective materials or questionable conditions as directed by the department manager.

    + Safety Committee duties to include attendance to monthly meetings and responsible for safety-related action items.

    + Responsible for facility lighting (interior and exterior) both preventative and day to day.

    + Conduct weekly and monthly inspections to remain in compliance with Environmental Health and Safety SOP’s.

    + Aids in facility-related special projects.

    + Manages and/or provides day to day leadership to various maintenance personnel engaged in specific project activities.

    + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, CBP, OSHA, ISO, etc.) in all areas of responsibility.

    + Understands that after safety the operation is top priority, and our goal is to minimize downtime.

    + Manage the Maintenance Technicians and Sanitation associates.

    + Plans work schedules in SAP and assigns duties to maintain adequate staffing levels; ensures activities are performed effectively and is able to manage fluctuating workloads.

    + Recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures; resolves personnel problems and complaints or refers them to higher-level management for resolution.

    + Conducts weekly staff meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics such as safety, quality, policy changes, etc.

    + Practices (GDP) as outlined in the SOP’s and work instructions.

    + Maintains fire protection equipment and facility programs and planning for fire and safety.

    + Ensures safety first environment and adherence to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injuries and illnesses.

    + Must be able to work a flexible shift and weekends as business requirements dictate.

    Education and Experience:

    + Associate’s degree or technical school certificate, and 5+ years related experience; or High School Diploma or GED, and 8+ years related experience, required.

    + 5+ years supervisory experience.

    + Hands on trade experience, welding, PLC, electrical wiring, mechanical, and demonstrated problem solving skills preferred.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    + Must have knowledge of current trade related regulations and practices.

    + Must be able to operate MHE equipment.

    + Must have basic knowledge of electrical controls and use of electrical multi-meter devices.

    + Must be able to logically organize tasking.

    + Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.

    + Must have analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills.

    + Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.

    + Must be able to read mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.

    + Must be able to recommend appropriate repair strategies.

    The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing this job, the associate is regularly exposed to episodes of walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, grasping, hearing, twisting, lifting, frequent use of hand to finger, handle, feel, pick or type which can include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands or fingers. The associate may occasionally be required to climb. The job may require lifting over 50lbs in some areas but not all. Associate must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and must have hearing sufficient to safely operate MHE [Material Handling Equipment] in a manufacturing/distribution environment.

     

    Work Environment: (if applicable)

     

    The noise level is moderate to loud. There will almost always be exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, exposure to precarious situations and potential temperature excursions. Occasionally the position will have exposure to fumes/airborne particles.
