    REPORTS TO: Transportation Director SUPERVISES: N/A EVALUATION: Performance to be evaluated every 3 years by the transportation director FSLA: Non-ExemptHOURS: Monday through Friday 6:30-8:15a, 1:30-3:15p We are seeking dynamic drivers to provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. A valid chauffeur’s license to drive school van 3. Ability to lift 50 lbs 4. Completed required trainings before interacting with students ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Safety:

     

    + Compliant with all Federal and State laws and mandatory safety regulations for school buses

    + Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects

    + Notifies the transportation director in case of mechanical failure or lateness

    + Maintains discipline on the bus and reports any undisciplined students to the proper authority.

    + Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.

    + Transports only authorized students

    + Discharges students only at authorized stops

    + Reports all accidents and completes required reports

    + Current on required trainings

    Operations and Communication:

    + Keeps to assigned bus route & schedule

    + Keeps assigned bus clean

    + Reports to work for assigned schedules

    + Communicates to the transportation director if late or absent

    + Partners with transportation director when necessary to address parents

    + Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips

    + Performs other duties as assigned
