Summary:

**_The Claim Consultant – Commercial/Complex_** will require working with a high level of independence handling high exposure claims and litigation potentially in multiple lines of coverage (e.g. Personal/Commercial, Homeowner liability, Environmental).

Responsibilities:

+ Responsible for all components of the adjustment process including multi-jurisdictional coverage analysis, liability and damage investigation, claim evaluation, negotiation and litigation/arbitration management with a demonstrated ability to properly manage expenses.

+ Participate in the training of other claims personnel.

Knowledge/Skills:

+ Frequent oral and written communication with customers is required and should be timely and professional.

+ Must be able to interact with defense counsel and be an active participant in the handling and settlement of assigned cases

Requirements:

+ Bachelor's Degree plus Insurance Designation e.g. I INS 21, 22, 23 SCLA, AIC, CPCU or equivalent, related experience preferred.

+ A minimum of five (5) years claims technical experience is preferred, to include bodily injury and litigation claims handling or equivalent.

+ Appropriate adjuster licensing and/or the ability to obtain licenses in states serviced by the corporation is required.

+ Mastery of multiple lines of business written by the company.

+ Working knowledge of multi-state policies.
