Position Summary
Accounting Clerks are essential to maintaining the daily financial operations of a business. By supporting accounting processes such as recording transactions, updating financial records, and assisting with reporting, they ensure smooth, accurate, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
While specific duties may vary, general responsibilities of an Accounting Clerk often include:
+ Data Entry: Enter financial transactions, invoices, and receipts accurately into the accounting system.
+ Record Maintenance: Manage physical and electronic financial records, ensuring they are organized and up-to-date.
+ Accounts Payable Support: Process vendor invoices, verify amounts, and assist in payment preparation.
+ Accounts Receivable Support: Generate invoices, track client payments, and follow up on outstanding balances.
+ Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements against company financial records to verify accuracy.
+ General Ledger Support: Assist with journal entries and updates to the company’s general ledger.
+ Expense Tracking: Track company expenses to ensure proper categorization and adherence to budgets.
+ Administrative Support: Provide assistance with filing, correspondence, and other clerical tasks as needed.
+ Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with company policies and accounting regulations.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
+ Proven experience in accounting or clerical roles.
+ Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar systems).
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools.
+ Strong organizational and data-entry skills.
+ Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
+ High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in accounting or finance is a plus
