    Job Title: Clinical Nurse LeaderDepartment: Operating Room Location: Rochester General Hospital Hours Per Week: 40Schedule: 6:30 am -3 pm or 7 am-3:30 pm - Monday through Friday SUMMARY:The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) provides both clinical care to patients and direct oversight of the day-to-day responsibilities of nursing team members. Is the main contact for a variety of nursing functions in support of management and staff. Serves as a resource for clinical expertise and mentoring/coaching of staff. Facilitates the delivery of quality patient care through strong critical thinking skills, open communication, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary health team. Drives the staff to provide an exceptional experience for the patient and family.Operating Room

     

    The Operating Room (OR) at Rochester General Hospital offers elective and emergency surgeries for adults and pediatric patients, including a variety of service-specific specialties. Types of Surgical procedures and teams performed include: General Surgery, Urology, Bariatric, Ambulatory, Robotic Surgery, Gynecological, Neurology, Vascular, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Plastic Reconstructive, Cosmetic Surgery, Oral Surgery, Podiatric Surgery, and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Leadership & Management. Assume responsibility for overseeing nursing and non-nursing personnel on a unit; function as a unit leader with the ability to act as a resource (both clinically and non-clinically) for nursing personnel, physicians, and providers; delegate appropriate responsibilities to assigned nurses and ancillary personnel; assess clinical expertise of nursing personnel, monitor assignments, and provide feedback and documentation

    + Patient Care. Perform initial and ongoing assessment of patient; demonstrate clinical judgment in responding to priority patient needs; communicate and document assessment of patient; develop and document plan of care, treatment, and services; communicate with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team; ensure patient receives and understands education specific to their needs and abilities

    + General Management. Perform daily leader rounding and ensure team members are regularly rounding on all patients; develop programs and strategies to monitor the quality of patient care and patient outcomes; assist Nurse Manager in developing and implementing long-term staffing patterns, personnel needs, budget negotiation, and recruitment plan

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Registered Nurse license in New York State.

    + Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Certification in the area of specialty by a National Accrediting Organization is preferred.

    + 1 - 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred; demonstrated leadership qualities and behaviors preferred.

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

    EDUCATION:

    LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

    BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED)

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

    PAY RANGE:

    $41.60 - $54.34

     

    The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
