Our Space Systems team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Parts, Materials, and Process (PMP) Engineer to lead the development and implementation of PMP processes for cutting-edge Space Systems programs at GA-EMS. In this role, you will play a key role within our Specialty Engineering team, contributing to the design, assembly, and testing of advanced space vehicles and payloads. This position offers the opportunity to work on-site in Englewood, CO.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Parts Selection and Qualification: Identify, evaluate, and qualify electrical, mechanical, and structural components to ensure compliance with program requirements and industry standards. Perform EEEE parts analysis, including parts derating and Worst Case Circuit analysis, to ensure system reliability, identify potential risks, and optimize performance under extreme conditions.
+ Compliance Assurance: Ensure all parts, materials, and processes meet program-specific requirements, industry standards (e.g., NASA, MIL-STD, or IPC), and mission assurance guidelines.
+ Materials Analysis: Assess and select materials and processes for spacecraft components to ensure compatibility with space environments, including radiation, thermal, and vacuum conditions.
+ Contamination Control: Assess and select materials for spacecraft components to ensure compliance with contamination control requirements, including SV-level contamination control and the implementation of contamination control processes to minimize risks and ensure system reliability.
+ Parts, Materials, and Process Control: Lead the execution of the Parts, Materials, and Process Selection Board by maintaining comprehensive records of parts and materials qualifications, process validations, and test results to ensure traceability and facilitate audits.
+ Process Development: Develop, document, and implement processes to ensure program mission assurance requirements are satisfied.
+ Risk Assessment: Evaluate risks associated with parts, materials, and processes and develop mitigation strategies to ensure mission success.
+ Supplier Oversight: Collaborate with suppliers to verify compliance with technical specifications and quality standards for parts and materials.
+ Testing Oversight: Plan and oversee testing of components and materials, including environmental testing, thermal cycling, vibration testing, and outgassing analysis.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of parts and materials into spacecraft designs.
+ Mission Assurance Support: Provide technical expertise to the mission assurance team, ensuring all components and processes align with reliability and performance goals.
+ Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance reliability and efficiency in spacecraft development.
+ Training and Guidance: Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians on PMP-related topics.

Job Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
+ Must have prior experience in space domain and satellite segment design.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences.
+ Proven ability to take initiative, drive projects to completion, and contribute beyond assigned responsibilities to support team and organizational goals.
+ Occasional travel may be required to customer sites or other GA-EMS locations.
+ TS security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
