Special Education Teacher – Life Skills Classroom | Springfield, OR | $56/hr | Full School Year

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to support a Life Skills classroom at a Middle School in Springfield, Oregon. This is an in-person role working with middle school students who present moderate to severe behavioral needs. The contract runs for the full 2025–2026 school year.

Position Details

+ Location: Spencer Butte Middle School, Springfield, OR

+ Start Date: ASAP

+ Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (start time may vary)

+ Hours: 40 hours/week

+ Contract Length: 9 months

+ Pay Rate: $56/hr

+ Caseload: 8 middle school students

+ Classroom Type: Life Skills, moderate to severe behaviors

+ Support: Collaboration with SPED team and district staff

+ Interview Process: Virtual interview with Lane ESD SPED administrator; equity lens document will be discussed in depth

Minimum Requirements

+ Active Oregon SPED License

+ Previous Life Skills experience highly preferred

+ Experience with IEP meetings and case management

+ Ability to work in person for the full school year

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ State Teacher Certification (Elementary, Secondary, Special Teaching preferred)

+ Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement (preferred)

+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)

+ TB screening and health certificate (as required)

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
