    The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University seeks a board-certified Pediatric Cardiologist with expertise in pediatric heart failure, VAD and heart transplantation, to serve as a member of the PACT program at Stanford University.

     

    The successful candidate will join the faculty in the Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Therapies (PACT) program at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH), with responsibilities for clinical care, teaching, and academic program development in the fields of heart failure and heart transplantation including ventricular assist device. The PACT program provides comprehensive care to children with all stages of heart failure. We perform approximately 25 heart transplants and 15 VAD implants annually, with a complex mix of patients. Outcomes in the PACT program are outstanding. There are currently 8 cardiology faculty in the PACT program, which is directed by David Rosenthal, MD.

     

    Candidates should be eligible for appointment in the Clinician Educator Line. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educator is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The position is open to applicants at all ranks.

     

    They will join a nationally recognized group of pediatric cardiologists who provide clinical care and perform research within a multidisciplinary cardiovascular program, The Betty Irene Moore Children’s Heart Center, at LPCH. The Betty Irene Moore Children’s Heart Center performs approximately 600 surgical cases annually and treats a highly complex mix of patients with outstanding outcomes.. Extensive opportunities exist for prospective clinical and translational research through collaborations with outstanding investigators in the School of Medicine (Departments of Pediatrics, Medicine, Radiology and Health Research and Policy), School of Engineering, the Stanford Program in Bio-X, and the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute.

     

    The Stanford Department of Pediatrics is committed to advancing the health of infants, children, and adolescents through innovative medical care, research, education, training, and advocacy. With over 400 pediatricians and pediatric subspecialties, our department is one of the largest in the Stanford University School of Medicine. We attract medical students, interns, postdoctoral scholars, residents, fellows, and faculty from around the world. We offer broad-based training in general pediatrics, critical care and pediatric subspecialties within a variety of ambulatory, inpatient and community settings. Integrated with our educational activities, these programs provide hands-on learning to equip our graduates with the skills they'll need as future advocates of children's health.

    Responsibilities of this position will include:

    + Outpatient clinics in heart failure and transplantation, including attending in the clinic and covering telephone consults and questions in conjunction with the NP staff.

    + Inpatient responsibilities including covering the PACT service in the ACCU and CVICU units, with weekend and overnight call.

    + Outreach clinics in heart failure and transplantation.

    + Supervision and clinical support of advanced practitioners in heart failure, VAD and transplantation.

     

    The successful applicant must have a medical degree (MD) or equivalent. Candidates should have clinical training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology (completed fellowship and be board eligible/certified).

    The expected base pay range for this position is:

    _Clinical Assistant: $294,000 - $313,000_

     

    _Clinical Associate: $339,000 - $357,000_

     

    _Clinical Professor: $414,000 - $442,000_

     

    This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
