Position Summary
The Electrician - Substation plays a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation of electrical substations. With a focus on high voltage installations and maintenance, the successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Functions
+ Conduct installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in substations.
+ Install various electrical equipment including transformers, switches, and circuit breakers.
+ Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics of electrical systems to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
+ Follow safety regulations, work practices, and procedures related to substation work.
+ Maintain thorough documentation of all work performed and materials used.
+ Collaborate with other team members and departments for coordinated project efforts.

Requirements
Position Qualifications
Required:
+ Previous experience in substation electrical work (3-5 years preferred).
+ Strong understanding of high voltage systems and components.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
+ Proficient in the use of hand and power tools specific to electrical work.
+ Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for working in electrical substations.
+ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ High school diploma/GED required; additional vocational training or certification is a plus.
+ Must possess a valid driver's license.
+ Must be capable of working in varied conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
Education & Experience
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: 3-5 years in an electrical role, particularly in substations.
Certificates & Licenses: Journey or Master electrician preferred but not required
