    Summary The primary purpose of this position is to research and report statistical data pertaining to passenger, cargo, mail, and aircraft movement within the Defense Transportation System. Responsibilities Prepares and processes required documentation for all over, short, and lost shipments. Establishes and maintains transportation document files under the Transportation Working Capital Fund (TWCF). Maintains receipt and accounts for Transportation Working Capital Fund (TWCF) channel traffic manifest documentation. Uses word and data processing equipment/software to prepare and process correspondence and documents. Monitors originating documents for seven Revenue Traffic Data Processing Centers (RTDPC). Prepares monthly reports. Compiles data from Aerial Port activities for inclusion in the Monthly Station Traffic Handling Report and forwards to supervisor. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, Transportation Clerk and Assistant Series 2102. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of standardized transportation instructions, regulations, procedures, and operations to perform a full range of standard transportation clerical duties and resolve recurring problems pertaining to the personal property function. Knowledge of the structure and content of transportation documentation (e.g ., tenders, bills of landing, invoices, travel orders, or vehicle accident or usage reports) to investigate and resolve routine or recurring discrepancies, check documents for accuracy, or perform comparable actions that are covered by established procedures. Knowledge of pertinent transportation automated systems to input standard infom1ation or adjustments, produce recurring reports, initiate corrections to transportation documentation, etc. Knowledge of frequently used and clearly stated regulations to respond to recurring questions from customers, commercial carriers, or others which are applicable to individual personal property shipments. Knowledge of word processing equipment and function keys to perform several basic office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents, activating a printer, inserting and deleting text, printing standardized paragraphs from a glossary, producing forms and form letters, entering data into a predefined spreadsheet or database, and transmitting and receiving electronic mail. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to prepare and edit written correspondence/documents. OR EDUCATION: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Working knowledge of Windows based computer programs and ability to use a Personal Computer (PC). Ability to read, comprehend, and use Air Force Instructions, DOD regulations and instructions, and other publications. Apply mathematical formulas and use a calculator. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education IF USING EDUCATION TO QUALIFY: If position has a positive degree requirement or education forms the basis for qualifications, you MUST submit transcripts with the application.
