Job Description
AutoZone's Safety Manager manages and directs all safety programs in the DC, which includes all new hire safety training, as well as annual refresher training. The position is also responsible for conducting injury related investigations. Other responsibilities include maintaining all OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory compliance. Safety facility inspections are conducted by the position to identify unsafe acts. The DC Safety Manager manages all physical and personnel security in the DCs in the absence of the Loss Prevention Manager. The DC Safety Manager acts as a resource to stores serviced by their DC, which includes safety. The DC Safety Manager completes an injury analysis for their region every period, and provides safety support to those regions.
Responsibilities
+ Training (new hire training, powered industrial training, post accident retraining, annual refresher training "regulatory compliance training", awareness training, Regional Safety Awareness Training) Investigations (accident/injury investigations).
+ Facilitates injury reenactments and recommends appropriate corrective actions and retraining.
+ Establishes and monitors site specific action plans that address most common injury types and causes through injury trend analysis. Goal is to reduce injury frequency rates in each DC.
+ Provides safety assistance to Regions serviced by their DC.
+ Completes and communicates Injury analysis for regions every period.
+ Partners with Regional staffs to develop awareness and proactive steps for DM's and Store Managers to reduce injuries.
+ Completes Facility Inspection surveys and inspects all safety within the DC.
+ Spends active time on floor conducting hazard identification.
+ Spearheads project analyses
+ Developing, testing, and evaluating projects in safety are continual requirements of the DC Safety Manager position.
+ Manages property protection program - facility system(s) management i.e. fire alarm system, and fire prevention (pump, and sprinkler maintenance)
Qualifications
+ Associate's degree (two-year program) or equivalent formal training program.
+ One to two years experience in Loss Prevention or Occupational Health and Safety
