    The Opportunity:

    CACI is seeking an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Systems Specialist with expertise in designing, assembling, and testing unmanned aircraft systems. The ideal candidate may have a background in aerospace, mechanical, or UAS engineering, and know about control systems, sensors, communication technologies, and flight dynamics.

    Responsibilities:

    + Responsible for identifying materials for acquisition, fabrication, modification, programming, and maintenance of multi-rotor and fixed-wing COTS UAS platforms for training and test events.

    + Experience interfacing with customers to meet evolving mission needs and communicating requirements appropriately.

    + Conduct launches and recover the air vehicle, perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks.

    + Use specialized software tools for 3D modeling, simulation, and programming of flight paths (e.g., SolidWorks, Mission Planner, etc.)

    + Plan, coordinate, and work with the safety officer for flight operations during training and test events.

    + Perform all functional duties independently.

    Qualifications:

    _Required:_

    + Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance

    + HS Diploma with 5-7 years of experience or BA/BS with 3-5 years of experience.

    + Experience with COTS multi-rotor and fixed-wing aircraft, to include hobbyist UAS experience.

    + Good working knowledge and experience using hand tools.

    + Hands-on experience working with fiberglass and composite materials.

    + Familiar with a range of materials and components used in UAV construction, such as carbon fiber, aluminum alloys, and various power plants.

    + Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Build Experience with amateur or professional UAS using composites.

    + Familiar with multi-rotor and fixed-wing UAS platforms.

    + Building and/or flying radio control aircraft.

    + Experience with all RPV (land, air, and sea) and ability to design/fabricate with limited instructions or pre-built kits.

    + Proficient in utilizing standard MS Office computer applications and intelligence-related automation to support analytical efforts and product development.

    + Ability to work independently or as part of a team, collaborating with other engineers, pilots, and project managers to deliver reliable and effective UAV solutions.

    + Ability to communicate and function effectively in a team environment

    _Desired:_

    + Experience large-scale Remote-Control Aircraft/UAS

    + Small turbine engine operations experience.

    + Experience with long-range UAS communication systems.

     

    This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

    The proposed salary range for this position is:

    $82,700 - 173,900 USD
