    Description:

    Position Purpose

    Responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting quality improvement initiatives with a focus on pay-for-performance (P4P) programs at Saint Mary’s Hospital, and ensuring alignment, consistency, and success across regional ministries in meeting quality benchmarks and reporting requirements. This role ensures the organization meets and exceeds performance benchmarks tied to external regulatory and reimbursement programs such as CMS Value-Based Purchasing and commercial payer initiatives (e.g., Anthem BCBS Quality Hospital Insights Program). This position plays a vital role in aligning performance metrics with organization goals, enhancing patient outcomes, and optimizing financial incentives.

    What you will do

    + Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret clinical quality data aligned with P4P programs

    + Monitor performance against benchmarks, targets, and national standards

    + Maintain data integrity and ensure accuracy in submission to external agencies

    + Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports to CMS, state agencies, and payers for mandated quality programs

    + Support initiatives aimed at reducing hospital-acquired conditions, preventable readmissions, and improving patient outcomes

    + Oversee Patient Safety Indicator Program (PSI-90) program for the Region

    + Serve as a liaison between quality, informatics, clinical departments, and external vendors or partners involved in P4P initiatives

    + Assist the organization in the use of monthly data to plan, deliver, and evaluate patient safety in care and services

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Connecticut RN license required, Bachelor of Nursing required, with an MSN or related master’s degree preferred.

    + At least five (5) years of relevant hospital experience, with a focus on healthcare quality improvement and P4P

    + Knowledge of regulatory requirements, patient quality of care and safety initiatives, and quality indicators as related to the hospital setting

    + Proficiency in data analysis for quality reporting
