Selling Partner Services Finance Insights & Analytics is looking for a motivated Data Engineer with strong database, analytical skills, and big data technology experience to support our finance and business partners in an organization critical to Amazon's long-term success.

As a key data solution provider, you will be partnering with Finance and Business leaders to design, build, expand and optimize data solutions. You will be working with a massive amount of data, and your big data solutions will be supporting our rapidly growing and dynamic business demand for data.

Finally yet importantly, you should have excellent communication skills and ability to adjust communication to different groups of stakeholders, collaborating with Business Intelligence engineers, finance managers, program managers, and leadership to evaluate business needs and objectives in order to set up the best data management environment.

Key job responsibilities

- Design, implement and build an analytical data infrastructure

- Managing AWS resources including EC2, EMR, S3, Glue, Redshift, etc.

- Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources

- Explore, learn and adopt the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency

- Collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers (BIEs) to recognize and help adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation

- Work with stakeholders to understand the business questions and define requirements and build out data solutions

- Support continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of data engineering experience

- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

- Experience with SQL

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions

- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

- Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets

- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS

- Experience with distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing

- Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
