    Job Title: Project Superintendent

    Job Description

    The Project Superintendent will supervise construction projects, ensuring schedules and project progress are maintained. You will oversee subcontractors including plumbing, electric, carpentry, and HVAC, while ensuring the daily punch list of work is completed. Your role involves coordinating subcontractors, addressing construction and drawing-related questions or concerns, and ensuring blueprints and plans reflect completed work.

    Responsibilities

    + Maintain a daily log for site operations and reporting.

    + Oversee and coordinate subcontractors such as plumbing, electric, carpentry, and HVAC.

    + Ensure the completion of the daily punch list of work.

    + Coordinate subcontractors, ensuring blueprints and plans reflect completed work.

    + Address questions or concerns related to construction and drawings.

    + Review duct work, plumbing, electrical drawings, and carpentry.

    + Utilize management skills, communication, and knowledge of general construction and blueprints.

    + Act as the face of the company, working primarily with doctors, nurses, and plant operations in an active hospital setting.

    + Conduct oneself professionally in a hospital environment.

    Essential Skills

    + 5-10 years of experience as a superintendent in the commercial construction industry.

    + OSHA 10 certification.

    + Basic computer skills.

    + Clear communication skills, both written and spoken.

    + Working knowledge of construction means, methods, drawings, and terminology.

    + Ability to relate to various stakeholders including owners, architects, tradesmen, hospital personnel, and inspectors.

    + Verifiable experience supervising complex construction projects, particularly in healthcare settings.

    + 3 years of experience in supervising commercial construction projects.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

    + Experience with RFIs and Change Orders.

    + No degree is required.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is in a hospital setting, requiring professional conduct at all times. The hours will vary depending on work completion, potentially starting at 8:00 AM and ending at 3:00 PM, based on project demands. The team consists of project managers, superintendents, and a project executive, with direct exposure to all. Work locations include the NYU Hospital campus in Mineola and the VA Hospital in Northport.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MINEOLA, New York.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr.
