Life and Culture Managing Producer

**Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer** , is seeking an innovative, passionate editor and manager to lead our award-winning team of veteran journalists covering Greater Cleveland’s thriving food scene, world-class arts, and entertainment industry. This role requires a visionary leader who is willing to experiment, take risks, and inspire a team that produces engaging, high-impact content across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Editorial Leadership: Manage a team covering Cleveland’s restaurants, bars, dining guides, arts, theater, and classical music scene, ensuring engaging and high-quality journalism.

+ Content Strategy: Oversee daily content production for Cleveland.com, social media, podcasts, video, newsletters, and The Plain Dealer’s print sections (Taste, InTheCLE, Sunday A&E, and Sunday Travel).

+ Collaboration: Work with newsroom teams on breaking news, national entertainment trends, and commerce-driven content.

+ Digital Growth & Innovation: Develop engaging multimedia content, including video, podcasts, and social media-driven coverage.

+ Administrative Oversight: Manage vacation schedules, approve expenses, set goals, and conduct annual performance reviews.

+ Training & Development: Facilitate professional growth opportunities for the team.

The base salary range is $85,000 to $90,000 per year.

Qualifications:

+ Degree in Journalism or Communications or related field

+ Minimum of 5 years of journalism experience with a proven ability in reporting and writing

+ Proven experience managing reporters in food, arts, entertainment, or culture journalism.

+ Strong knowledge of Cleveland’s food, arts, and cultural scene (or a deep curiosity to learn).

+ Experience in digital journalism, social media strategy, and audience engagement.

+ Ability to collaborate across teams and drive revenue-generating content.

+ Strong organizational, editing, and leadership skills.
