Summary You will serve as a CRANE/RIGGING ACCIDENT PREVENTION MANAGER in the LIFTING AND HANDLING DEPARTMENT of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR. Responsibilities You will establish the goals and objectives of programs under your cognizance and oversee their completion. You will manage, administer, and direct the Crane and Rigging Accident Prevention Program, planning and directing work for subordinates. You will compile and analyze statistical data and prepare charts, tables, and reports to discover trends, identify causes, and develop a course of action to minimize unsafe/hazardous conditions. You will ensure all requirements and guidance pertinent to the use, storage, and disposal of hazardous material are fully understood and followed by the workforce. You will oversee work in progress to ensure compliance with established policies and directives. You will conduct accident and mishap investigations involving crane and weight handling equipment to include operations and weight testing. You will initiate action to stop work, correct unsafe conditions, and ensure that safe work practices are followed as situations warrant. You will lead investigations of crane and rigging accidents that involve significant severity of loss. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assessing and analyzing accident data metrics to determine trends in rigging and crane work practices to implement and enforce new and established safety rules and requirements to minimize and prevent accidents and improve safety outcomes.
