    **VCA Valley Animal Hospital** in Roanoke, VA is seeking a full time experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

    We are a fast-paced practice offering Primary Care, Surgery, Dentistry, and more. Our hours are Monday 7:30am – 7:30pm, Tuesday through Friday 7:30am – 5:30pm, Saturday 7:30am – 12:30pm, closed Sundays.

    About the Role

     

    As Veterinary Assistant, you will support our team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients and clients. Duties will include:

     

    + Compassionate patient care

    + Client education and care

    + Obtaining patient history from clients

    + Filling prescriptions

    + Preparing suite and surgery and dentistry patients

    + Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging

    + Maintaining medical records

    + Safe and effective patient handling and restraint

    Compensation: $15 - $18 / hour based on skill set, and experience.
