    Summary

    Under the direction of the Supervisor of Central Stores, the Material Management Clerk position is responsible for general filing of records to temporary and permanent storage. Receive, sort, and distribute mail and reports on a daily basis. Other similar clerical duties as required.

     

    Roles and Responsibilities

     

    + Must deal effectively with a heavy volume of incoming telephone calls.

    + Must prepare inventory documentation in support of inventory transfers and issues.

    + Enter transactions into the computerized inventory purchasing and accounts payable system including the use of bar code devises and the preparation of bin labels.

    + Assist in the verification of all data entry transactions.

     

    Skills and Qualifications

     

    + Must be proficient with the use of office machines, including computer input devices, personal computers and current business software.

    + Effective oral and written communication skills, clear and legible handwriting,

    + Must be able to assemble, prepare, and compile records accurately.

    + Must be able to carry out written and oral instructions and perform assigned duties accurately.

    + Must be able to learn and apply vendor invoice terms and Material Management process such as receiving, issuing and transferring inventories.

    + Must be able to consistently perform the following mathematical calculations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.

    + Must maintain consistent attendance at work.
