    Prestage (Clinton, NC)


    Prestage Farms is seeking a reliable and safety-minded Commercial Driver to join our team! This position involves hauling eggs from farms to our Hatchery in Clinton, NC on Mondays and Thursdays and assisting with live poult transfers from the Hatchery to farms on other days (team driving required). This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week. If you’re a dependable driver comfortable with physical work in an agricultural setting, we encourage you to apply!

    Responsibilities

    + Safety operate a company-provided truck and trailer to transport live turkeys.

    + Ensure the well-being of the turkeys during transportation, adhering to all relevant animal welfare regulations.

    + Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

    + Document and log work/rest periods.

    + Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.

    + Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.

    + Maintain a clean and organized truck and trailer at all times.

    + loading and unloading (rolling carts up to 750 lbs.)

    + maintain egg inventories

    Requirements

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs.

    + Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.

    + Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations

    + No recent moving or driving violations.

    + Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)

    + Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.

    + one year of commercial driving experience or Trucking School Certificate

    + Valid Commercial driver license class A

    + Must be 21 years or older.
