    The role you'll contribute:

    Responsibility to adhere to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance plan, to the rules and regulations of all local, state and Federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies.

    The value you'll bring to the team:

    + The Lactation Consultant is responsible to the BirthCare Center/Educator /Director to provide educational programming and clinical expertise that promotes and supports breastfeeding. The Lactation Consultant will assure the delivery of safe and effective patient care of the lactating mother and her infant as defined by Florida Hospital East Regions standards of nursing care and is consistent with other related disciplines.

    + Assesses patient knowledge of breastfeeding.

    + Prepares an appropriate plan of care for the breastfeeding mother and infant.

    + Implements appropriate plan of care to assure optimal newborn nutrition.

    + Communicates with patients and families in a supportive, responsive and non-judgmental manner.

    The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

    Minimum qualifications:

    + Graduate of an accredited school and program

    + Current IBCLC certification

    + Demonstrated expertise in the care of breastfeeding mothers, normal newborns, advocacy for breastfeeding and positive interpersonal relationships

    Preferred qualifications:

    + Clinical experience preferred
