Position:
The Behavior Consultant in Training works under the supervision of a Senior Behavior Consultant or mentor BCBA, with administrative oversight from the SBS Program Director and Coordination Team. This role provides structured guidance and mentorship in accordance with BCBA standards while supporting clients through the application of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The consultant collaborates with supervisors to conduct assessments, develop and revise individualized behavior plans, and offer consultation across school, community, and mental health settings.
Qualifications:
Education and experience requirements for this position include
+ Active enrollment in a graduate-level program with at least two semesters completed
+ Completion of coursework aligned with Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) requirements for BCBA eligibility
+ A minimum of three years of relevant field experience is preferred
+ Adherence to supervised fieldwork contracts
+ Demonstrated experience working with children and youth with emotional or behavioral challenges
+ Experience working in school settings is desirable
Knowledge, skills, and competencies required for the position include
+ Conducting behavioral assessments and developing individualized behavior plans
+ Monitoring, evaluating, and revising treatment strategies based on client progress
+ Managing or co-managing the behavior planning component of assigned cases
+ Training and supervising staff in the implementation and evaluation of behavior plans
+ Providing consultation to case managers and families
+ Working with interdisciplinary teams across educational, clinical, and community settings
+ Strong organizational and communication skills
+ Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned
+ Ability to provide client transportation using a personal or agency vehicle, with proof of adequate insurance coverage
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: This full-time position offers an hourly rate of pay $24.77/hr and comprehensive benefits, including paid time off; employer-sponsored health, dental, life, and disability insurances; and a 403(b) retirement plan with a generous employer match. WCMHS also offers educational benefits, including tuition reimbursement and student loan repayment.
