Job Title: Summer 2026 Global Continuous Improvement & Quality (CIQ) Intern

Summary:As a CIQ Intern, you will apply Lean Six Sigma tools to uncover efficiency opportunities and drive impactful change across global operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze production and quality data, and lead real-world projects that enhance performance, reduce waste, and support strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:

+ Work closely with CIQ BB to translate gaps identified from tools/processes such as Operational Excellence Maturity Model, Management Operating System (MOS), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Customer Complaints, Out of Spec/Slow Moving Inventory (OOS/SMI) and GLIMS into CI projects with quantifiable results.

+ Perform data mining/hypothesis testing to identify trends in Operations and Quality data in support of Lean Six Sigma projects

+ Partner with Quality and Operations teams to identify products and test methods that are opportunities for Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and lead projects as needed

+ Present project outcomes to site leadership and global Quality organization.

+ Become White Belt certified through project work and required training.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

+ Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a technical field such as Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Statistics

+ Knowledge of Basic statistics and/or successful completion of university-level mathematics courses

+ Computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint. Minitab or other statistical analysis tool preferred.

+ Attention to detail – ability to document new processes and procedures.

+ Self-starter – Proactively identify new opportunities to drive efficiencies in Quality and Service at Friendly, WV site

+ Prior experience training or teaching technical topics to small groups considered a plus.

+ Must have reliable transportation to and from the site

Program Qualifications:

+ The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.

+ The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August.

What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
