    Description

    The Public Health Program Associate position is available in Dr. Stephanie Griggs' laboratory, which focuses on evaluating the efficacy of sleep and circadian interventions in adults with Type 1 diabetes. The research explores a range of outcomes, including diabetes-specific, cognitive, neural, and cardiovascular measures.

     

    The Public Health Program Associate will play a key role in supporting the coordination and execution of a research study. This individual will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) to ensure the successful achievement of study milestones, supervise research staff, and manage various aspects of data collection and project administration.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Under limited supervision, uses a basic knowledge of public health principles to analyze, develop, implement, and promote new and creative strategies and solutions to address public health issues and challenges.

    + Addresses public health issues by providing education, technical assistance, advocacy, public awareness, and research.

    + Works with programs or studies designed to evaluate the prevalence or surveillance of public health issues and the effectiveness of targeted interventions.

    + May provide technical assistance to organizations to include presentations, web-based resources, strategies, and educational forums to address specific public health issues.

    + May work with clinical study sites on patient recruitment and data collection standards. Assists with data collection and data analysis.

    + Contributes to proposals, protocols, data analysis plans, reports, manuscripts, and presentation of study findings.

    + May assist in designing, developing, and conducting targeted training initiatives.

    + May collaborate with external organizations to develop action plans and goals to achieve specific objectives.

    + Performs related responsibilities as required.

    ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

    + Collaborate with the PI to coordinate study activities and timelines.

    + Monitor progress toward study milestones and ensure timely completion.

    + Supervise research staff and delegate administrative tasks such as meeting scheduling.

    + Co-lead team meetings and attend all study-related meetings.

    + Receive cross-training to serve as a backup for delivering study conditions.

    + Prepare and submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications.

    + Assist with annual progress reports and maintain project-related documentation.

    + Create and maintain secure project databases.

    + Manage study-related equipment and supply inventory.

    + Recruit and retain study participants.

    + Administer study instruments and surveys.

    + Assist with data cleaning, coding, and quality assurance.

    + Contribute to the preparation of presentations and manuscripts for publication.

    + Support dissemination of study findings to stakeholders and the broader public health community.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + A master's degree in Public Health, a master of science degree in Public Health or Health Education, OR a master's degree in Development Practice OR a master's degree in another field and one year of public health experience.

     

    NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
