Position Overview

Waterford Place seeks an experienced and compassionate **Massage Therapist** to oversee the massage therapy program as an independent contractor. This role combines hands-on therapeutic service delivery with team leadership, scheduling, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical skills and a heart for holistic cancer care, ensuring participants receive trauma-informed, professional support.

Qualifications Required:

+ Current, unrestricted Illinois license to practice massage therapy.

+ Minimum **3–5 years of hands-on experience** providing therapeutic massage.

+ At least **1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience** in a wellness or healthcare setting.

+ Professional liability insurance (must provide proof upon contracting).

+ Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

+ Knowledge of HIPAA and commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications Preferred:

+ Experience working with cancer patients or those with complex medical histories.

+ Familiarity with integrative care, trauma-informed practices, or nonprofit settings.

+ Fluency in Spanish language preferred.

Time Commitment & Availability

+ Estimated 6-12 hours per week

+ Evening availability may be requested based on participant needs.

+ Participation in occasional team meetings or check-ins may be required.

Independent Contractor Notice

This position is offered as a **1099 independent contractor role** . The Lead Massage Therapist is not an employee of Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center and is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits. Contractor must maintain valid licensure and insurance throughout the contract term.

$40-$60/hour
